Powder-coated frame

A steel frame protected by powder coating — a dry paint baked on at high temperature. It resists corrosion, does not peel, and wipes clean of propolis and wax easily. The standard choice for most apiaries.

What the 4th generation adds

• LTE-M network, 2G as a fallback — works where operators are switching 2G off.
• GPS and movement alarm — a message as soon as someone moves or takes the hive.
• 40 days of memory — without signal, readings are stored and sent once the connection is back.
• Up to 10 auxiliary scales — they send to the main scale by radio up to 50 m, without their own SIM card.
• Bluetooth — connects to your phone at the apiary.
• Two sensors included — outdoor temperature and humidity, and in-hive temperature.

Power: Li-ion battery and solar panel

The box on the scale holds a built-in Li-ion battery, 14.4 V / 5 Ah. The scale comes with a solar panel (5 V / 3 W, USB-C) that keeps it charged, a 20 W charger and a cable. No lead battery to carry home for charging — the scale runs on its own even at a remote apiary.

Hive type and weighing range

When you order, you choose the hive type (LR, DB10, DB12, AŽ and RV) and the weighing range, 120 or 240 kg. For DB12 hives the scale is made with the 240 kg range.

App, web portal and Beekeeping Journal

The same app (Android, iPhone), web portal and Beekeeping Journal as for all our scales — no monthly subscription. A data SIM card is needed to send readings; it is sold separately.
