A stainless steel frame with no coating that could chip or peel. It resists corrosion for its entire life, and tolerates washing and stronger cleaning agents. It lasts the longest, which is why it costs a little more.
Know what is happening in the hive — without going to the apiary
SMS Scale weighs the hive every 60 minutes and sends the readings over the mobile network to our server automatically. You follow them in the app on your phone: nectar flow, swarming, winter stores — all in real time.
What the scale actually solves for you
You catch the nectar flow on time. A daily rise in weight tells you the flow has started, so you know when to add supers or move the hives.
Early warning of swarming and theft. A sudden drop in weight is a clear signal — a swarm has left, or the hive has been robbed. You find out the same day, not a week later.
Winter stores under control. Track how fast the colony is eating without opening the hive and disturbing it.
Fewer pointless trips. Instead of driving out „just to check“, you look at the app — and go only when there is a reason.
How it works
1. The scale measures. The hive stands on a steel frame with precision load cells. A reading every 60 minutes, in any weather.
2. The data goes to the server. Readings are sent over the mobile network and stored in a database. It works anywhere there is signal — no mains power required.
3. You follow it in the app. Current weight, charts and history for every hive, with alerts on sudden changes.
