Stainless steel frame

A stainless steel frame with no coating that could chip or peel. It resists corrosion for its entire life, and tolerates washing and stronger cleaning agents. It lasts the longest, which is why it costs a little more.

What the 4th generation adds

• LTE-M network, 2G as a fallback — works where operators are switching 2G off.
• GPS and movement alarm — a message as soon as someone moves or takes the hive.
• 40 days of memory — without signal, readings are stored and sent once the connection is back.
• Up to 10 auxiliary scales — they send to the main scale by radio up to 50 m, without their own SIM card.
• Bluetooth — connects to your phone at the apiary.
• Two sensors included — outdoor temperature and humidity, and in-hive temperature.

Power: 12 V battery

The scale runs on a 12 V lead-acid (gel) battery, like the 3rd generation — you can use the one you already have. The battery (7 Ah or 9 Ah) and the charger are not included and can be bought in the shop. If you would rather not carry a battery home for charging, see the 4G H scale with a Li-ion battery and solar panel.

Hive type and weighing range

When you order, you choose the hive type (LR, DB10 and AŽ) and the weighing range, 120 or 240 kg. For DB12 hives the scale is made with the 240 kg range.

The stainless frame is currently in stock only for LR/DB10 and AŽ hives, in limited numbers. For DB12 and RV hives choose the powder-coated or galvanised scale.

The same app (Android, iPhone), web portal and Beekeeping Journal as for all our scales — no monthly subscription. A data SIM card is needed to send readings; it is sold separately.
