Hive temperature sensor DS18B20
Digital temperature sensor for measuring inside the hive. It sits in the brood nest and tracks the temperature the bees maintain themselves. A sudden change is an early sign that something is wrong — and you see it without opening the hive.
What it tells you
A healthy colony holds the brood nest at a remarkably steady temperature. When that number drifts, something has changed — the queen has stopped laying, the cluster has moved, or the colony is in trouble. You notice it from the app, days before it would show at an inspection.
Fitting it
The sensor is waterproof and goes into the brood nest on its cable. It connects to the scale and its readings travel together with the weight.
